Rachel’s Countdown Calendar

A Time to Share…

Rachel Sutton – always happy, always kind

Once again the idea came from an online social network. It was a facebook post that inspired Rachel Sutton to share it, and it ignited an outpouring of support.

The post was published first by passionatepennypincher.com, a website that helps people by suggesting ways to save money.

The idea itself stems from the popular Advent Calendars that originated in Germany. Traditionally a treat for children, these Advent Calendars have become much loved elsewhere and by grown-ups too.

Now let’s see if this idea will get enough people to act, so it can make a difference for a local charity or family.

Rachel’s Countdown Calendar has become a “Be More Initiative” that qualifies you to earn KR Points.

The original facebook post by PASSIONATEPENNYPINCHER.COM:

Rachel is a doer, and she does what she preaches. For her effort with this inspiring Be More! Initiative, she is nominated to receive a Heart & Dove Award™ in 2020.

Follow our blog posts for more on Rachel’s story, and her wonderful incentive to collect food from friends, while making it fun.

As easy as 1-2-3 for you!
Here’s what you can do:

1) Collect your 24 items of non-perishable food.

2) Take a photo before you donate your box of food items, then take them to the recipient. If at all possible, take a picture when you hand it over, or after they received it.

3) Upload your images here >>

Important, please read:

Only use non-perishable goods, and only in original packaging. Do not use products with an expired “Use By” date. Do not donate foods directly to individuals or families, unless you know them well and personally. If you’re not sure, bring them to a local charity, church or food bank.
