Day 13: Comfort or Encourage Somebody!

How would you comfort and encourage someone who experiences anxiety?

By now, I have read too many firsthand accounts of people who were hospitalized because of this virus. Thank God those I know have returned back home, safe and recovering. But their struggle was enormous, and I can only imagine what it must be like.

This pandemic is very real.

I am deeply sorry for those who are battling the disease, and for those who have lost their loved ones to it.
Please be strong.
I know you are fighting hard, both physically and emotionally.

Now, the good side that I’m seeing is nothing short of being remarkable. Never in my little sliver of experience, have I seen so much outpouring of love and kindness.
Were it not for the countless victims, the community spirit would give reason to celebrate and see this as a boost to humanity.

Unfortunately, the price is too high.

Which makes me ponder: why can’t we behave this way and be supportive to all members of our community during ‘normal’ times?
I guess we’re too busy chasing our lives, just trying to make it through another day.
But we sure are more sensitized to others’ needs, and I’m suspecting that it will stick around for a while, even after everybody has recovered and we have conquered the virus.

A very warm ‘Thank You’ to all who are stepping up to the plate and do their best, especially those who go above and beyond! You ARE the heroes of our community, no matter the size of your contribution.

Today, it is a sad day, when looking at the broken pieces of our beloved Palm Beach County. And I’m sure you feel the same way for your own community, no matter where you live.

Those people who are victims in any form, have my heart and my deep sympathy.

The emotional toll it has taken on our society is still growing daily. Just this morning, I read a heart wrenching article in the Post, that cited numerous residents who are trying to come to terms with all of what we’re experiencing.
Especially seniors and the very young are frightened and insecure. Many have lost their positive outlook, and they are left nearly without hope.

Please, please, please, if you have enough heart in your chest, please be positive and encouraging. I urge you to be strong for the ones that are suffering. They need you.
Give them your ears, your shoulders and your wisdom.
