They can feel that something’s up!
Animals have this extra sense, when things aren’t quite right.
If you own a pet, then you must have registered that your pet knows exactly when you don’t feel good. They’re very sensitive, and they are aware perhaps more than we think.
Do you pay attention to their moods?
We all spend more time at home now, so that must be the first giveaway to them, that something’s different. And of course, they can feel it, when we experience anxiety, even in small doses.
Years ago, when we had our cat Louie, he would lay next to hubby during his time with gall bladder problems. Troy would be up half of the night, laying on the living room couch, while trying to ease his pain. Without failure, Louie would move out of my bed and straight to the couch, to comfort my husband.
These guys need us now!
All animals deserve our special attention, now more than ever.
Make sure that they get their proper food, since a balanced diet not only benefits humans, but is essential to animals well-being just the same. Don’t over feed them, and allow for regular exercise.
Give them a space where they can rest and feel safe. Don’t put their bed too close to an AC vent, or where it’s drafty, and give them some space. As a responsible pet owner, you already know about that.
Give them extra love too, because it matters to them. Fido, Kitty, Lizzy & Co need your company just as much as you need theirs, and they need that reassurance from you. They will thank you for it!
What About Animals in Nature?
As should be common sense during ‘normal’ times, please respect all animals and their habitat. If you go outdoors for diversion and to calm your soul, pay attention to wildlife.
They may realize that there is less human activity around their space, so they may get less cautious, especially around traffic. Be mindful and don’t disturb them.
We currently do not own any pets in my household, so our enjoyment comes from observing animals in the wild. They offer so much beauty, making our natural world nicer to live in.
But let’s not take them for granted. We must be good stewards and allow for wildlife to exist with dignity. Let’s not harass them, and let’s not stress them out. Simply enjoy as they are, in their natural setting.
